Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz’s Daughter Zoe Kravitz Comes to Terms with Her Black Identity

Zoe Kravitz, the 34-year-old daughter of actress Lisa Bonet and rock star Lenny Kravitz, has recently opened up about her journey towards accepting her Black heritage. While Zoe’s parents are both half African American and half of another ethnicity, Zoe struggled to connect with her Black side while growing up, attending private schools full of white kids.

In a recent interview with Allure Magazine, Zoe explained that racism is very real, and white supremacy is still going strong. However, she credits her father for pushing her to become more in tune with her Black heritage. As she has grown older and experienced more of life, she has started to identify more and more with being Black and is proud of her roots and history. Zoe’s journey towards acceptance has not been easy, and she has experienced many challenges along the way.

Zoe revealed that she was always one of the only Black kids in any of her schools, and she often felt like she didn’t fit in with the Black community. She explained that the white kids were always talking about her hair and making her feel weird, and this made her want to blend in and not be looked at as Black. Zoe also struggled with accepting herself as Black and loving that part of herself.

she’d felt detached from being Black because she “didn’t like Tyler Perry movies” and such. Uh…I dig Tyler Perry’s work, but I’m just glad Zoe has discovered that being Black has far more dimensions than just being able to relate to ‘Madea.’

However, as she has grown older, she has come to realize that being Black is not confined to a certain type of media stereotype..

Zoe’s new found understanding and pride in her Black culture is a positive step forward for her, and she hopes that her journey will inspire others to embrace their heritage. She acknowledges that her journey is ongoing, but a big shift has occurred, and she is now in love with her culture and proud to be Black.

Zoe also opened up about her mother’s thoughts on the sexual allegations against Bill Cosby. Lisa Bonet worked with Cosby on The Cosby Show, and while she wasn’t surprised by the news, she was understandably upset by it. Zoe revealed that the allegations had bummed her mother out and that she didn’t want to hear about anyone being abused, especially by someone she spent so much time with.
